Thanks for the reply Penn - I hope my post didn't come across as negative. I am new to this so was interested as to the reasons why.

Not to worry, you didn't come across negative, it's a fair question. I mean, I don't doubt that making food from scratch for Hams is possibly better because then you can control everything that goes into it, but I'm personally not savvy enough to know what exact quantities of vitamins and whatnot to put in stuff so it's best I don't try x3 I'm sure some folks on the forum do make their own food for hams, so you can always make a fresh thread and ask if it's something you're interested in ^^

Like yourself, I don't have a blender/processor so it's easier for me to buy the baby food - to be honest I don't fancy making it from scratch. I do for myself most days but, sometimes it's nice to come in and not have to do the preparations and go for an easier option.

I'm really glad I read this thread because I've recently started giving Panda babyfood and strawberry activia yogurt now that he's over 2 years old and I've had to throw out jars with more then half still left in them because I can't go through the whole thing in 2-3 days. I do have ice cube trays so my question is, once they are frozen how long will they stay good in the freezer? That may be a stupid question but I just want to make sure that when I give him babyfood it is still good for him to eat. Also how do most of you defrost it? Would it be ok if I defrost it in the microwave for a few seconds or so as long as it's not warm when i give it to him?

I've ready that babyfood can stay good frozen for 2-3 months! And I don't think there would be any issues with microwave defrosting as, but I personally would just leave the cube out to defrost at room temperature ^^
