Ours love lots of things, mealworms are a real favourite with the dwarf hams and some syrians

She's an odd little hamster. Since she's really jumpy I'm trying to get her to associate that I someone that she can trust. As in I bring good things? Like treats? She's odd in the sense that she's jumpy and flinches a lot but then she'll be brave and go onto my hand. Once she's actually on my hand she will tremble at first but then she'll eventually settle down a bit. It comes and goes though.
However, I'd be more than happy to hear any suggestions that might help her feel more relaxed or just get her to trust that I mean her no harm.

Re: Need taming treat ideas.
Similar to Skeever's spoon, I like treats that are big enough that you hold one end while they hold & nibble the other so they have to eat it there & then not pouch it. And take it away before they get bored so they want to come out for more next time. So a slice of pepper or apple or a bit of pasta. Things like that. That's what worked with Cleo but she wasn't anywhere near as tame as your Aria.

What about just sitting in the bath/playpen with her?

oh yes! I have been trying that and it's been working!! So I think that's the way to tame this little one for sure! I've already been seeing improvement in her just within these past couple of nights.

hee hee, I tried this with Aria and she tried to fight me to take it away from me so she could pouch it. Either that or she doesn't like other people holding her food while she eats. Nonetheless, it was really cute.
