Re: Mealworms..
I have dwarf hamster food that contains dried mealworms, so Puff gets one or two nearly everyday. She loves them! They're always the first things she eats if they're in her food bowl!

Re: Mealworms..
My dwarfs love them. They get a few usually every other day. Yuki my robo normally gets one every day as I'm trying to tame her and mealworms are the only thing that she'll take from me. My hybrid Pocky isn't fussed about them either way, he'll eat them if they're in with his food, he won't go crazy though and like run up to you to get them. My hybrid Miso who recently died used to love mealworms on the other hand, he would pinch them from you and run off and hide and scoff them .

Re: Mealworms..
I've never given my syrians mealworms before.
Is it OK for them to have the dwarf mix as there's dried MWs in that?

Re: Mealworms..
Lizzy I can't see any reason why you couldn't give a syrian some dwarf mix, or you could just pick some mealworms out to try, some syrians don't seem to like them as much as the dwarfs do.
RubyRose £3 for a big bag of mealworms sounds like it's possibly the fried ones which are much cheaper than freeze dried.

Thanks for that RubyRose,
Sounds like a lot of mealworms.I don't want to buy and they don't eat them and there's no way I'll be eating them lol.
I'll check it out.

Thanks Cypher,
I'll get the dwarf mix tomorrow - I'm hoping to get a dwarf ham after christmas is over - well a rescue one is what I'd like.
So the mix would definitely come in handy for that.
Fried mealworms yuk!

Re: Mealworms..
I bought some mealworms for willow and she pulled a face and hastily went into reverse.... Not a winner with her! She is a Syrian so maybe the dwarfs like them best

Re: Mealworms..
The first time I gave them, I had to point it to Archie but twinkle took hers right away.
Put it in with her usual hamster mix.
I give Twinkle 1 dried MW everyday but Archie gets 2 as I'm trying to beef him up.

Re: Mealworms..
all my hamsters syrians and chinese love live mealworms. the syrians are also treated to live crickets which they love. Its a great supplement to their diet and gives lots of protein. They snub their nose at dried ones not interested at all.
