Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
They'll nibble at them, but always in the bowls when I go to change and top up their food.
I've still to hear of hamsters that eat all hamster mix.
Why do the makers put it in?

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
My Syrian will happily eat the black bits, especially if I offer her one by hand.

Dennis hates the orange flaky things. Throws them out of his bowl.

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
My hams must just be weird. :L All three of my Syrians have a mixture of SupaHamster and Harry Hamster, and they all eat the alfalfa pellets.
I generally don't top up their bowls until they are all-but empty, but if there is anything they leave its the coloured biscuits in the SupaHamster. Also Tansy hates maize, for some reason, so will leave the maize flakes if she can get away with it.
Todd the hybrid has phases of what he likes and doesn't like. For ages he hated the pellets in his SupaHamster Dwarf, then started eating them all and leaving the cereal flakes, and now he's gone off them again. Can't win with that fluff.

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
Well Archie surprised me this evening, he was sitting in his cage on the top floor eating a black log - I was so surprised as him and Twinkle usually nibble a few bits out of them.
I know that the one I put in his dish was about an inch long, and now there's less than half left.
What a little darling!

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
There's a couple of those in the sample pack I got with Pikachu from P@H, I have Harry Mix to give him after I've finished this little 10 day bag. I give him half pellets and half mix, just in case he ever gets fussy as the pellets have a bit of everything in them. He seems to like the variety! I see him enjoying both! He does leave those long black things though.. I noticed this yesterday.
He does eat them sometimes though!

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
Taylor has nibbled the odd one I think, but apart from her, the rest of my hams hate them.

Charlie won't touch them and tosses them out of his bowl.
