Question Where can I get HH or dwarf-friendly food in Ca?

Where can I get good food for a possibly diabetic dwarf hybrid in America? Perferibly without ordering online. I live in CA. Does petco/petsmart have any good brands? I'll check the websites.

Petsmart sells Oxbow, which is good for diabetic hams.

Both Petsmart and petco sell Hazel Hamster, but it's hit and miss as to which locations have it. I could only find one petco in my area that stocks it, but you can buy it on either of their websites, or amazon.

Oxbo is very good, high in fiber , has alpha, hay, and basically is made with variety of greens high in vitamins- the cons, is some hamsters won't eat it, as a staple diet. I give my dwarf a few pieces each day- I break up the pieces, so it's easier for her to hold and eat. If you prefer a mixed food, I'd recommend Hazel Hamster. I've seen Hazel hamster sold at my local Petco, and I'm in the US. I also, break up the pieces in the Hazel Hamster food, for my dwarf, some of the pieces can be rather large for a dwarf.

Oxbow is excellent. It's only fault is that it's a little low in protein, which can be remedied with bit of boiled chicken or mealworms or boiled egg whites.

Some hamsters dont like the taste much, but when it comes to potential diabetes I would argue that a healthy diet is better than a tasty one. Both my hamsters eat their oxbow last, usually; I mix it with Hazel Hamster and Higgins Sunburst, along with some other supplements.

Teddy mentions breaking up larger pieces: I do this for my robo as well. It's worth a try if your hamster seems reluctant to eat something.

And lastly: Hazel Hamster and Harry Hamster are the same food, it's just called Harry in the UK and Hazel in the US. I have no clue why xD

I found Hazel Hamster in one Petco near me, but not at two others, so check around.
