Hamster Dinners?
So, I'm looking in to giving Skittles a 'special dinner' once a week - For example chicken, vegetables and pasta.
My issue is I don't want every meal to always be the same, so I'm looking for ideas of small 'meals' that I could give.
What 'dinners' do you guys give?

Re: Hamster Dinners?
My hamster gets his hamster mix then other extras added in like treats. Then he gets bits of whatever I'm cooking or whatever is in the fridge such as a little bit of chicken or fish or veg like peas, sweetcorn, broccoli, green beans, carrot, etc pretty much each day.

Re: Hamster Dinners?
Same here depends on what I'm cooking, sometimes they just get vegetables but then the other night I was making lasagne so I wrapped a little piece of mozzarella up in a bit of lasagne sheet to make a fun little meal for them, they enjoyed getting to the cheese then they just left the pasta after that my two hamsters favourite food is cucumber so I put a wedge in for them a couple of times a week

Christmas dinner is about the only one we share with ours but they do get a mini Christmas one every year

Re: Hamster Dinners?
They're fine with veg, roast potato, yorkshire puddings and some meat Ours is always a vegetarian one so they skip the quorn roast and onion gravy but we even replace the roast with chicken some years in their bits so all they really miss out on is the gravy
We wouldn't feed them yorkshire puddings or roast potato too often but they're definetly appreciated at Christmas

Re: Hamster Dinners?
Okay, I know how peoples Christmas dinners can differ dependent on veggie/meat eater, allergies etc. So Im gonna write our typical list, can you then give me a yes or no on each item please
Turkey
Chicken
Boiled bacon (or is this too salty?)
Pork
Beef
Honey roast parsnips
Roast potatoes
Peas
Corn
Carrots
Swede
Peas pudding
Pineapple pieces
Sorry for all of the questions, I don't want to harm my little baby boy.

Re: Hamster Dinners?
@EmmaLouise: I've heard that hams should not have pork, but I'm not sure why, but I would probably not give that. Boiled bacon should be okay in small amounts, especially if you're only doing it as a Christmas treat
Honey roast parsnips and pineapple are both high in sugar, I would avoid giving them to any diabetes-prone species, but it should be okay if you have a syrian. Again, especially if this is a once-a-year thing.
I don't know what's in swede or pease pudding though xD sorry

Re: Hamster Dinners?
I've read the same about pork but don't remember why either but best avoided I agree.
Swede should be ok, I've seen turnip on the safe food lists & they're fairly similar really, pease pudding may well have added sugar & salt unless it's home made so maybe not a good idea.
