Default All Bran

Yesterday, I pinched some all bran from my wife's cerial box and I put some in Screech's and Marvins cage. Screech didnt touch it but Marvins has gone. Either he has stashed it or eaten it. Has anyone else gave all bran to their hams.

Never tried it, I did think about pinching a bit of bran flake from my mum as I don't eat the stuff but i wonder just how much fibre is too much for a little ham... not at all sure.

lol. I dont like the stuff. It is like eating cardboard strips. lol. I poured some in a butter tub and placed it in the drawer with the hamster foods and stuff in. It looks just like dried mealworms. lol.

I can't remember what's in it now but I think it might contain sugar, maybe an idea to check?
I think it's slightly sweetened cardboard!

There is sugar in the all-bran but a tiny amount, just like there is in most foods. It is not an adative. The main ingredients are wheat bran and barley. I took a photo. Better than typing it all out.

Er... 18g of sugar in 100g sounds like a fair bit to me. Not surprised the one ham loved it with those values

That does sound a lot which made me curious so I checked it's mostly natural sugars, 87% wheat bran so only 3% added sugar which isn't too bad but I still don't think added sugar is good at least not too often.

He has had about 1 gram. I put 4 pieces in his cage. They were the size of the small mealworms. He can have them as a treat as he needs building up as he is the one that was 27g when I rescued him. Last weigh in was at 50g. I am going to weigh him tomorrow to see what he has put on in two weeks.
