I think it varies a lot, Ziggy never got over 56g but he didn't look underweight at all, I can't remember what my first hybrid weighed but I don't think it was much more than that, Flynt is 78g & most definitely overweight! Not knowing his age makes it harder to judge but I'm sure Marvin will reach the right weight for him & settle there.

When I get him out again, I will take some pics of him. I didnt do it earlier because he was very tired. I could see it in his face. But he didnt mind me weighing him eally. I put him back quickly and said sorry for disturbing him. lol.

I just bought some All Bran cereal for Hubert yesterday. It was funny to log on and see this thread this morning! I got the Fiber One Original Bran Cereal, which is sugar free. Hubert likes it.

Bailey sugar free is great but it does contain artificial sweetener I think & I'm not so sure that's a good thing for hams, I don't really know though.

No idea about whether the sugar free All Bran has artificial sugar but if it has and it's ASPARTAME, then I would be as cautious as Cypher. I don't consume it myself because of all the health issues which have been linked (according to available information) to that chemical sugar substitute, so I certainly wouldn't want to risk giving it to my furries, just in case it can affect them too.

Saccharin is a natural substance originating from coal, if I remember correctly and then the new sweetener Steviol which is being used more and more, is a plant now grown commercially as a natural sweetener, I don't mind either of those from a personal use point of view but I definitely avoid anything with Aspartame as an ingredient.

Not at all a science based opinion where hamsters are concerned but my own point of view, which has been the same for 20yrs now.
