Default Rotting veggies

Hi there. I have tried buying broccoli (which the hamsters love) but the smallest portion I can get goes bad before I've even made a dent in it. I don't know what to do. I can give carrots but I'm not giving Beanie any so he is left out. Thoughts please? Thanks!

Can you buy broccoli crowns? I found I went through those faster than a stalk.

What is a broccoli crown? I don't eat it. Just stalk pieces?

I think broccoli freezes quite well so it might be worth cutting it up into little portions and freezing them? Maybe just do this for about half of the broccoli the 1st time to give it a go and make sure it seems alright. Then you could just defrost each portion in a bowl of water as and when you need it.

They need to be cut up and separated so they aren't one big block, right?

Yeah I'd think so. Then you can just take as many little pieces out the freezer that you need. Rather than trying to cut them off a big frozen broccoli.

You could cut it up and put it all in to a ziplock/freezer food bag I don't think they would all stick together too much as long as they aren't wet when put in the freezer.

Thanks! Do you know if Chinese Hamsters can have peas? Carb-wise that is.

I've never had Chinese so I don't know much about their dietary requirements, sorry.
