Default Changing feed

This might seem totally weird to ask but...
Lets say you were feeding your hamster Harry Hamster Feed but you wanted to change it to Happy Hammy Food, would you one day give 3quarters old feed 1quarter new feed then the next day 2quarters old 2quarters new then 1quarter old 3quarters new then finally all new feed??? I have to do this with the horses I work with or they become very ill! Is it the same with hamsters???

love Funky-Filly x

Yes, it is best to gradually mix in the new feed with the old, and just gradually take away the old stuff.

Yep, its the same with most animals. Dogs and cats can become very ill if given a new food without it gradually being introduced to their diet.

Ditto with bunnies. They have runny poos all over my house otherwise...
