Portion size?
So i was wondering what fruits or veggies that i can give to a syrian in large amounts. I've heard of people giving other rodents in the same family half an apple or a whole carrot. Obviously not to eat the whole thing, but to knaw out for a bit. I know what a syrian hamster can eat so im dubious that it would be possible with the high sugar content of most fruits. But is there something that i can give to my syrian to let him just sort of chew on. I know things like celery and lettuce can only be given in small amounts but what can i give in large amounts?

Re: Portion size?
Hello GuyXY. I don't give any of my hams, dwarfs or Syrians large amounts of fruit or vegetables. They get a piece of fruit or vegetable daily about an inch long. Anything they leave after an hour I remove. For chewing, it's best to give them wood chews or snack shacks or a milk bone.

We give Sam a small ish piece of fruit or veg a day, e.g just under an inch in size, a whole grape etc.
