Default Tomatoes

Just wondering if hams can eat tomatoes? I know they can't have the leaves but can't find anything about the actual tomatoes

Yes, they can. It`s the tomato leaves that are poisonous, but then they would be to humans as well! Just offer a small cube of tomato and remove the pips/seeds. Tomatoes produce lycopene, which is a really good cancer fighting agent.

Tomatoes do contain vitamin C, but the acidity also helps to keep the Ph level of the urine from becoming too alkaline. I only ever fed my Syrian a small square of tomato a few times a week and he loved it.

Like citrus fruit tomatoes are acidic and should be avoided.

Anthorn, we established that we COULD if you did NOT give then the pips, and stuff, as racing hamster said they contain vitamin c and as long as it was only a small bit it would be fine
