sorry to hear about morgan. yeah I've definitely learned a lot from just reading other threads. it's really great that everyone is so enthusiastic and so dedicated to their pets well being

To be honest I would not feed him more than 1 of those sugary treats a day as he may get fat. Mine gets 2 a week.
Try looking for the Critters choice sugar free range as you can treat your hamster more often with those

A syrian should have about 5 sunflower seeds a day

There are loads of healthier and tastier treats than those sugary ones. Try a bit of fruit/veg (check it on the wiki safe food list first) about the size of your pinky nail, a cheerio, a tiny bit of pasta or a monkey nut or two!

thanks guys! i know he likes carrot and apple, so i'd like to try using that as a regular treat rather than the sugary stuff also i was wondering if it's safe to try him with a little bit of watermelon (no seeds)?
