Default Bozita and Iams cat food?

Hello,

I am not the only animal maniac in my family, my mother is also very animal obsessed. But where I am all about the hamsters, my mummy is a mad cat lady. As part of her dedication to the feline cause, both our cats are on a Swedish wet food called Bozita.

Apart from having the cutest cat pictures on the box, they are also the best quality cat food you can get. They are all 93% meat, have zero preservatives, no meat meal or grains (cats cannot actually digest grains or cereals well at all, despite this they are used in many cat foods). It is also suitable for human consumption (not that I have tried it, I am a veggie)

I was wondering if it would be okay to feed a chunk of it to Theo every now and then? And which flavour? Currently we have Haddock, Salmon & Mussels, Crayfish and Elk (yes we feed them reindeer, sorry Santa)

This is the ingredients for Elk flavour: Chicken, elk (4% in chunks), beef, pork, calcium carbonate, yeast (ß-1.3/1.6 glucan 0.01%). The rest are very similar in constitution.

Because my cats struggle with grains we have some Iams kitten kibble left that they cannot eat.

The ingredients for this are as follows: Dried Chicken and Turkey (41%, a natural source of taurine), maize, animal fat, wheat, dried whole egg, dried beet pulp (2.7%), hydrolysed animal proteins, calcium carbonate, fructooligosaccharides (0.69%), fish oil, potassium chloride, brewer's dried yeast, sodium chloride.

I thought this may help keep his teeth trim and his coat shiny as it contains brewers yeast.

So what is the verdict? Are these yummy nibbles for Theo

First of all: pass on IAMS. It's terrible quality, and you never know exactly what they're putting in it.

As for the other, I'm not sure. ^^ It sounds pretty okay, but it's more natural for hamsters to get their animal proteins from insects, in my opinion. However, I'd definitely avoid fish. I'm not sure where, but I heard it can be harmful to hams.

I've tried mine with a bit of Bozita chicken flavour but they weren't really that interested. They love plain cooked chicken though

Thanks guys! Mum is not a fan of Iams at all so she will be very happy to throw them out and I might see of he likes a cube of Bozita. Obviously I don't eat meat but when my family do it is always curried

We feed them Applaws grain free biscuits mixed in with Bozita because we want our kitties to be in tip top condition But I think my hammie may enjoy a little chink of meat to give him a protein boost!

Eriklover, I think it is not that fish is harmful but can add to the smell of your hamster and its urine!
