Feeding
I scatter feed with Peter, but I do leave a little bit in his bowl just incase however I've noticed he's storing his food a lot and he has huge amounts stored! He's feeding on Harry hamster but he seems to leave all the Alfa Alfa and I noticed he's storing the red and green bits but the rest he will eat. Any advice on what you'd do?

Re: Feeding
Two options i can think of is either to not give so much food to make him eat his hoard (remember old food can go funny so it's best not left in 'storage' for too long). Or you might want to mix in a all in one style food such as science selective so that he eats that also and doesn't miss out on the nutrition of the foods he doesn't like by way of selective feeding.

Re: Feeding
I'd either leave him to it or just feed slightly less so he has to eat the store too. Hams never eat much Alfalfa though so I wouldn't worry about him leaving that.

Re: Feeding
My old ham used to do the same with her Harry Hamster. If he has a big store, don't give him any more food until he finishes all his stored food, alfalfa pellets included.
If it continues to be a problem, you might want to add some Science Selective Hamster food in to make sure he gets all the nutrition he needs.

Re: Feeding
Thank you guys. The monkey has 2 piles of food not just the 1!! Lol. I'm going to give him a good clean out tomorrow so I'll monitor his food closely after that but I will buy some science selective. I'm guessing this will be a 50/50 mix with Harry hamster? If he carries on leaving food he doesn't like do I need to take this out before I make his 50/50 mix? Thanks guys

Re: Feeding
I wouldn't take it out, you never know he may decide to eat some of the bits he doesn't normally eat, if he has run out of his favs.
