Default Mushrooms

I've just been asked why mushrooms are unsuitable for hamsters, and i have no idea why. Why are they unsuitable, or are they suitable? Thanks in advance. x

There are some mixed reviews, though looking over old threads in this forum via the search bar it seems that they are suitable?

I wouldn`t. Humans can`t eat them raw so I wouldn`t risk them with my hamster either. The are a fungus after all!

Humans definitely can eat raw mushrooms! The only ones not to eat are ones you pick or find outside as you might not know what they are. Ones you buy from the shops are perfectly fine for a human to eat. No idea about hamsters though, sorry (still learning myself).

My boyfriend eats mushrooms raw all the time

I actually wondered whether hams can eat mushrooms recently, the verdict was they can, but I'd already given then something else as their veg treat for that evening
