Default Panic alert

Omg, I've just read on the rspca website that grapes are poisonous to rodents?

Is this true? Because I've given Wolverine several grapes in the past along with raisins and what not.

He's fine, no unusual signs or anything.

Just panicking now because I didn't realise they were poisonous :/

We have given small bits of grape to our guineas very occasionally & made very sure to take all the pips out but I haven't tried the hammies with them as they're pretty high in sugar.

If you look at the wiki here Safe and Unsafe Food and Plants - Hamster Central WIKI seedless grapes are on the safe list.

Hope this helps,

shiny

I know they shouldn't be fed to dogs (big no no) but wasn't sure about Hammies.

Well I think that I'll just stick to apple and carrot now, just to be on the safe side
Saying that my sister feeds Lemony Snicket all sorts, he's like a little hoover. He's 3 now so it can't have been that bad!

I've always given my hams grapes if I have them in the house (not often coz I'm not mad keen on them myself) and they've always been fine.

I have heard of hamsters getting bits of grape stuck in their pouches which makes them ill as the grape ferments and the hammy gets 'drunk'
I think I've explained that right!

I cannot help it, I can't stop laughing. I now have this vision of a drunken Hammy staggering around. I've given all my gerbils and hammies pieces of grapes for years. Never had a problem. Maybe the fact that I love seedless grapes helps. ...Drunken hammy...LOL
