Default Pebbles' New Diet

Recently I decided to change Pebbles' diet, more as a precaution than anything else. She now has:

Burgess Hamster Harvest
(maize, wheat, soy, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, mealworms, oats)

With the added ingredients:

Mixed puffs from ratrations (millet, rice, buckwheat)
Locust beans
Bran sticks from ratrations
Flaxseed
Hemp seed
Fenugreek seeds
Dried mixed fruit
Dried mixed veg from ratrations
Dried alfalfa

And the supplements:

Tiny Animals Essentials
Pro-C
Salmon oil

Between them I'm hoping these give her the variety of the mix she used to have, along with the combined variety of ingredients specific to Hamster Harvest and Harry Hamster, with a few extras to boot, plus the nutritional benefits of the supplements. And not as high a ratio of processed foods as a wholly commercial mix, which puts my own mind at rest.

She had her first taste today and seems to really like it. Early days but a good start!

I'd go easy on the fenugreek seeds -- I know it's used to treat diabetic hamsters as it lowers blood sugar levels, so I wouldn't want to give too much to a healthy hamster

I was going to type this until I saw you'd beat me to it! Fenugreek is my preferred method of treating diabetic hams and it works very well, for this reason I personally wouldn't give it to any healthy hamster as part of the main diet, some wouldn't even give them as treats. The rest sounds very nice and balanced though, you could still give the fenugreek very occasionally as a treat if you wish.

I agree with the fenugreek - it also makes your hamster smell like a curry house
