If it helps I have the normal hamster one and it says on the back that it is suitable for dwarfs. I too wondered this when I was buying it but as far as I could see the ingredients were pretty much the same.

We give our Syrians dwarf mixes if we run out of the regular mix & they don't seem to mind. They actually seem to like the bit of variety this gives them! I know sometimes people say that Syrians may not like all the bits in the dwarf mixes, some are not so keen on the mealworms but ours are ok with it. You could keep the bag of dwarf mix, get another back of regular mix & mix them both up maybe so you're not wasting the bag you bought. Or see if you can exchange it maybe.

Ultimately, you need to feed what you are happy with to your hamster, so have a little think about it all & maybe look on the Burgess website or call their customer service to check, the big companies are normally happy to answer questions like this.

Hope this is helpful,

shiny

Don't worry, it's not like you bought cat food or something at least you can still use it.

just rang them they said it will be fine they are both the same nutritionally just they wouldnt advise feeding dwarf hamsters the syrian mix as the bits may be too big for them but they other way round is fine especially when im giving him the harry hamster mix aswell because hes getting the bigger bits out of that

I give my Syrian actually burgess dwarf hamster and Harry hamster 50/50 mix. Normal burgess hamster bits as big as Harry hamster and some Syrian hamster doesn't like big bits so might only pick smaller bits from Harry hamster and not get all nutrients. So giving dwarf hamster smaller bits encourages them to try everything. And top dwarf hamster mix is apparently slightly less fattening than normal hamster food which is bonus too. Actually vet told me all these and am sticking to giving my hamster 50/50 mix of normal and dwarf hamster mx
