Default Applaws Dried Cat Food?

Applaws sent me some free samples a month or two ago but I got so many free things from different places that I hadn't got around to trying it with Fudge xD
Anyway, I've checked the ingredients on the back and was shocked to see that it contains Citrus
I know Citrus is on the unsafe foods list so does that mean this cat food is unsafe too?
I find it odd considering cats are supposed to be notorious for hating citrussy things

I have never read the ingredients list of Applaws before.

It does seem strange it's in there.

I personally would not feed it with citrus in, it also depends on how much is in there. The further down the ingredients list it is the less it has in it.

I would imagine it would have very little in there but without the % of it you can't tell much

The wet stuff all have different ingredients in - one of them has liver in and it was chicken flavor! I know the chicken and rice one is just chicken, water and rice but they all seem to have different things in ...

Sorry that's waffle isn't it?!

I've only fed the wet Applaws to my hams. As Pinkneon says, it's only got a few ingredients and is about 70% meat (unlike the brand my hams prefer - they don't have posh tastes when it comes to cat food!). The ingredient lists I've seen for the dried online, it looks like the citrus extract is right at the bottom, with about 60% meat.

I have a chicken one and I think the other is chicken and salmon.
Would it be okay if the citrus is right at the bottom? I'm guessing it's low quantity with it being at the bottom of the list. I never thought to check for citrus, I was more worried about onion and garlic but neither of those are on the list

So as its at the bottom it's the ingredient that is used the least

As it's not going to be fed every day I would of thought you would be ok with it, just keep a eye on ham for soft poo

Haha well I'll certainly be checking ingredients more often. I had the same problem with people food a couple of months ago. A Basil and Garlic Pasta pot. I ate it and thought it tasted a bit "hot" and thought nothing of it. I was ill after and checked the ingredients to find it had chilli in it which I'm allergic to. Nothing should really surprise me after that!
Well Fudge will be happy, she can try some of the chicken one later
