Question What type?

My uncle is visiting and although he's really scared of Minnie, he brought her some treat sticks. I know these are very sugary but would just one be okay very occasionally? She's never had one before and I really limit her sugary treats (She had a couple of yoghurt drops yesterday but that was the first time in a while)
Because I know he really wants to see me put one in Minnie's cage and I don't want to upset him by saying they're too sugary and the wrong thing...
which one of these two types is better?
Boredom Breaker Naturals Strawberry Sticks
or
Harry's Stickles with Wild Fruit and Nut?

My pet Syrians get a treat stick now and again. I think that as long as they are used as just that - a treat - infrequently then it's not the end of the world for Syrians. My Basil refuses to eat the ones that aren't stuck together with honey and getting them only once in a while he seems to enjoy them more. I've used boredom breaker treats but not Harry ones. If you were especially worried, for example your hamster is already a little on the chubby side, then you could take it out half way through and give the rest another day.

Maybe break the ends off and see if Minnie likes them first. But if you don`t want to feed them, don`t. It`s better for the hamster that they don`t eat sugar unless it`s a natural sugar found in a small piece of fruit or naturally found in dry foods.

I`ve had a few food gifts given to me for my hamsters in the past that were well meant, but because I didn`t like the sound of them, they were binned!

I've put one of the Harry Hamster ones in Minnie's cage and she's nibbled it but she doesn't seem too fussed ,which is a relief because I had images of her golluping the whole thing down at once and then getting ill!

i give my boys a treat stick once every 2 months, well actually i put it in, then take it out when its about half gone, and put the other half in the next month - I don't see any harm in the occasional treat, its not like we always eat whats good for us
