Hamsters eating crickets??
When we get Scooby the beardie at christmas we will have a supply of crickets and mealworms. Live ones.
Our question is, will we be able to give the hamsters live crickets??

Yes you can feed live crickets to hams, it's normal to feed these in Germany. People breed them to feed the hams

Oh yes, many love them! I did some research on it and it's common for them to eat live crickets or similar.
A live cricket got into my hamster's cage last week and she jumped right on it and ate it up. It was crazy to watch!
I just gave her another last night but she hasn't gone after that one yet.

it's quite funny to watch,(quite gross) the crickets literally gone in minutes!

LOL i can deal with mealworms not sure about crickets though eeek if i gave one to totoro or theo they would probably freak out and hide

Squeak adores mealworms so I think she'd eat crickets...dunno about peanut tho. She'll eat one now and again, usually when I'm not watching. I know because I hear the crunching...
