How do I go about looking into buying a mix from you?
As advised above, it isn't available on the website at the moment after some concerns raised

Ok thanks,

i thought silver did a number of mixes (and yes I remember something about her leaving now).
I currently use the same food for both my robos and syrian.
They still have the original P@H musli my syrian came with, I then bought the premium version, then Harry Hamster, then science selective (as they don't eat the bisciuts - green/orange or any pellets) they have all four of these mixed together with dried mealworms & dry porriage oats in it.

they do get other separate food - fresh fruit & veg, chicken, pasta, rice, millet, plus a few hamster treats.

Is this a good diet?

I would say yes because you are giveng them good variety and choice. Robos love small seeds and grains and garden peas! My little old man is fed on Burgess Supahamster harvest (syrian version) and I add Kallo organic wholegrain rice (Tesco or healthfood shops) and various bird millets to it and a few dry mealworms. I soak buckwheat for him in cold water for an hour until my fingernail goes through it and he scoffs it! The Buckwheat is a treat though. I used to add it dry to his mix but he much prefers it softened in water.

I would always advise sticking to a decent commercial mix as long as it wasn`t full of biscuits and alfalfa and not much else. That`s why I went with the Burgess mix long term as it seems to be one of the better varties available. Even though it still contains the grass pellets and the small coloured biscuits, I just remove those and replace them with the other ingredients. No big deal.

No. The rice I buy is PUFFED rice cereal, but not rice krispies. It`s an organic puffed rice found in healthfood stores and some supermarkets. If feeding rice from a bag, it should be cooked according to the packet instructions and then cooled in cold water and rinsed to keep it fresh. Hamsters love a small amount of cooked rice but never keep it for longer than 12/24 hours as cooked rice can be harmful if not stored correctly. I only feed cooked rice an an occassional treat to prevent my little lad from becoming bored with other thing he gets as treats. All of which are natural.

Tesco usually sell Kallo organic wholegrain puffed rice for around £2.00 a bag. Healthfood shops charge more. It`s a nice alterative carbohydrate and fibre source if they don`t eat the pellets or biscuts in their mix. Just a little sprinkle is enough though and don`t add more until the puffs are eaten. It should last you a long time if you use it sparingly!
