Default debittered brewers yeast???

I've read a couple of posts dotted around HC that mention debittered brewers yeast as being good for fur growth. Does anyone use this? Does it work? I've got a couple of naughty hams with rose rub and wondered if it may be worth a shot?

Yes, I have used it for a few years and I am certain it makes a difference. I generally mix it in the porridge, especially for baby hams as it is good for bone and hair growth. It can also just be sprinkled onto food. It just makes the porridge smell a little marmity but they all seem to like it - and a box last for ages.

Ours seem to like it too. We also mix it in the porridge but some people sprinkle it on the food dry. You can get it in Holland & Barratt.

I tend to use it on older hams and generally prefer to sprinkle it on their food but have put it in porridge in the past and stirred it into baby food

It really helped when I had Lily whose hipspots were bald, the hair grew back pretty well

Hi claire,

I can bring a little bag to Topcliffe for you to try?
We just sprinkle it on the food or in porridge etc.

I was going to get this, but all they had at Holland and Barrat were huge ones for about £5. Is this all there is, or can you get smaller bags? I mught just go back and get some anyway if you all think it works.

I only saw the big ones, but they must do smaller ones somewhere Mollz.

Will you get to Topcliffe? I can always bring another small bag (it seems to last ages at a sprinkle a time)

No unfortunately not My mum is really good but the limit she puts in is an hour and a half and Topcliffe is about 3 and a half!! I'm sure I could get her up to 2 hours - but that is a bit far. It was a very kind offer though Teresa, thanks

This is what I use for Tinkerbell's baldness... I think it has helped. She was getting balder and balder but it seems to have slowed down and there's a definitel fluff returning to her tummy, bless her.

I sometimes sprinkle it on dry food and sometimes put it in wet foods, depending on what she has that day.

I'll probably use some for Herbert too, I can't see that it will do him any harm.
