Default Yogurt

I have been browsing through this section and cant seem to find an answer to a yogurt related question i have.
Was out at ASDA yesterday and thought i would buy a small tub of plain yogurt for Max. Didnt realise there was so many choices of plain yogurt
Anyway, i bought Asdas Low Fat Probiotic Yogurt

Like this :

Is this ok to give Max or is there another one anyone would recommend?

Also, i never know wether to give veg raw or uncooked. For example, brocolli, can it be given raw and washed or does it need to be cooked?

Any help is much appreciated here

That looks fine to me but only give a tiny amount like say half a teaspoon to make sure it is agreeing with him Jayne. For vey we usually give raw but sometimes will give cooked if that is what is available at the time. If you use cooked dont salt the cooking water. Maybe give veg every few days to start with and just a fingernail sized piece.

Thats great! I would only give a small amount to see if he likes it. Was going to try and give him some tonight after i've had him out.
He got a little broccoli (cooked last night) and i didnt salt the water. I usually do with my veg but had already decided he was getting a little piece of it and didnt bother. I will give him some more veg, probably at the weekend so he isnt getting too much too soon.

Thanks for getting back to me

I tend to give my hamsters full fat yogurt rather than low fat
if you look at the list of ingredients they add sugar to the low fat version to keep the taste
you will probably throw most away unless you eat it yourself before the tub is done but you can use it to make up porridge etc, or mixed with his veggies, raw or cooked they don't mind and actually some vegetables get more nutritious with cooking others loose a lot of their vitamins - minefield healthy living!!!
Brocolli is full of good nutrients either way so do offer this when you can if he likes it.

I give mine the full-fat Greek natural yogurt which is full of probiotics - just a tiny amount every now and then - some love it, some won't touch it. I also give mostly raw veggies but, as we don't use salt at all in our cooking, I also give them left over cooked veggies (cooked brocoli, sprouts and carrots as well as a little mashed potato are real favourites) once a week.

I usually feed raw veggies, but give them all a little cooked sweetcorn on the cob if we are having it. They all like cottage cheese and Kretchmer much prefers cooked carrot although he only gets this as a treat and raw the rest of the time.

They all love cauliflower, but the biggest favourite of all time with all the hamsters is plain boiled rice

Question I wanted to ask though - can you give them raw gren or red peppers?

we eat a lot of peppers and the hamsters always get the insides, and any outsides left over - though this rarely happens. They love the seeds
