Moving house
I'm moving house tomorrow and because the leon cage won't fit in my mam's car i'm planning to move Sirius (syrian) into the Zoozone 1 and Louis (chinese) into a travelling cage:
Wilko Fish Tank/Vivarium 10ltr | Aquariums | | Domestic Bird & Fish from Wilkinson Plus
The problem is that the travelling cage cannot hold a waterbottle and Louis gets stomach problems when he eats any sort of veg, even in the tiniest quantities (he was over 1 when i adopted him and he had never tasted anything but Wagg hamster food ) so i'm not sure what to do for water for him during transit. Would baby rice contain enough moisture for him? It's only a short trip an he'll only be in the cage for about 2-3 hours. If anyone has any better ideas i'd love to hear them!
Thanks! X

Re: Moving house
not sure if this will help as you're moving tomorrow, but you can get stand alone water bottles....apart from that you can hold the bottle yourself for him? sorry not more help....

Re: Moving house
We'll only be in the car 20-30 minutes and i can put a water bowl in at the other end i suppose. It's possible he could only be in the tank an hour but that depends when the removal men get the leon cage to the new flat as i'll have to get sirius out of louis' cage before i can put louis back in.
Dramaqueenk: I am not going to be in the car with the hamsters as i've got to be for the removal men, but thanks anyway. I'll get one of those water bottle stands for future though!
StarlightSerenity: Velcro is a good idea, thanks. I think i'll try to get some this afternoon.
Thanks Again!

Re: Moving house
To be honest, if its just an hour or so I really wouldnt worry about providing water - they dont drink much, he wont go thirsty

Re: Moving house
If it's only a short journey, just put a large slice of cucumber in the cages, I did it when I took my hams to a hamster show about an hour or so away and they were fine

Re: Moving house
I was going to suggest what Tish said - a piece of cucumber should give him sufficient moisture for a couple of hours.
