Is there any food brands that any one would reccomended? So far ive been feeding my hamster tesco hamster food, not the value mix the next one up, its £1.93 for a 1kg bag, but it dosnt seem to be a good quality mix, its got green and yellow bits, sunflour seeds, peanuts and a few other small seeds and thats about it, or it that a ok mix with fruit/veg/other tit bits? Thanks

I've only ever used Pets at Home food and JR Farm, the JR Farm food is fantastic, Luna eats all of it!

Re: Reccomended food brands?
i feed best pets, its good quality (17% protein which is the recommended amount) and a good price too, i dont think they sell it in small bags though, i bulk buy
harry hamster is the one i would use if i couldnt get best pets.
i would avoid PAH, as one of the ingredients in it is actually added sugar...
and i defiantly wouldnt use generic pet store own bag, you have no idea what it actually is and if it meets the correct nutritional needs, just because something is sold for an animal doesn't mean it is actually suitable for the purpose

I use Harry Hamster with a few supplements added in. (crackers, mealworms, millet and porridge oats)

Swapped to Harry Hamster from the P@H stuff, Buster was picking out all the cat biscuits or whatever those things are that they pad the P@H feed out with. I suppliment with a little fresh fruit or veg and the occasional treat like mealworms every couple of days.

Re: Reccomended food brands?
At the moment I'm using the Tesco food (think it's the same one you were using) and mine seem to quite like it! Also giving them the harry hamster food with it.
I used to buy this posh dwarf hamster food off ebay called Beaphar XTRA VITAL dwarf hamster food but it's like £4.00 for a 500g bag so it's pretty pricey but it smells very nicely of echinachea and contains turkey. This was because one of my hamsters was a bit of a fussier eater when I couldn't get the less cheap food (as I didn't live near many shops with decent pet food in) so I would have to buy it online.
Oh and my WW really likes the PAH food (think it's because he is from there), but I didn't realise it had sugar in. Hope it's not a lot I'll have to check the pack :/ There's this other one I get from PAH that is by 'Naturals' (or something) called 'Rodent's Garnish' which has shrimp, coconut and carrot in it and my hamsters loved that but it's £1.99 for a smallish bag so more of a treat really.
