He is gorgeous - he looks quite tame and happy - great colouring and unusual for a dwarf hammy

Lol, Gimli willing to join the circus for mealworms! This really made me laugh. My Eros is exactly the same way, too. I'm so happy for you all. Congrats on taming going so well!

It is so hard to get pics of this little rascal! He seems to be doing really well. We are able to hold him without him appearing stressed. We are still trying not to over do it. Tonight, I put him in a bin with some toys for a bit just to give him something new to do for funsies. I'd really like to get him a play pen. Any suggestions? Also, he doesn't seem to want to try veggies. He is eating his hamster mix and a few meal worms a day. He has several stash's of food and it is fun to watch him carry it and his bedding around. His food mix is not a great one b/c I bought it at the pet store before researching much. For now, I am removing the corn to try to reduce the sugar. Any suggestions for dwarf ham's on food mixes?

Cuteness overload!! I love your boy so much! He is so cute! I’m very happy to hear that taming is going so well! I would suggest the Burguess Dwarf Hamster Harvest or Bunny Dwarf Hamster Dream Expert. The Buguress is not a top choice as it doesn’t have a lot of variety but the G/A is good. The Bunny has lots of variety but lacks a bit of protein but can be easily made up with a few mealworms.

Thanks Sasha, I'll look those up.

If you need any links I can help you with that! As I live in the US, I found it very hard to come by these foods. There was no way I could possibly get my hands on Bunny. The Burguess was very expensive since it had to be shipped over seas. I ened up asking a friend (who was in the UK at the time and was heading to the states soon) to bring me a bag of Burguess (my friend sadly couldn’t get Bunny). Hope all goes well with finding his diet!
