Should I be worried?
Should I be worried?
Hopefully the picture attached properly and the quality remains good. Found this on my male winter white dwarf hamster of about 3 months of age. I felt it and it seems to be some sort of bump or lump or something not flat. Just need an opinion before I spend money on a vet appointment

Re: Should I be worried?
That looks like the ventral scent gland in a dwarf. Is it in the 'tummy button' position. It's normal in dwarves and more prominent in males so I wouldn't worry about it. As they mature it becomes larger and there is a sticky yellowish scent exuded on to the fur there. If it gets swollen, red or discharges profusely the vet attention is needs but some yellow staining is normal
