I'm pretty sure it's the high levels of glucose that gives that sweet smell to the urine. I think that if the hammy is testing high on ketones as well as glucose then you have a very sick hamster.
Cinnamon Bear had a very sweet smell but he's the only one I remember having this odor. He was the worst case I had with a diabetic dwarf. He was very sick.

I hope she settles in after the clean. If it gets that smelly again in the next few days I would suggest taking her to the vet. It could be a urine infection. That might explain the particularly strong smell and her having her ears down all the time as it could be painful. Go easy on the cleaning stuff though or this will stress her.
