New little rescue
I decided to take another little rescue who appears to be getting better over time. I first got her anorexic and lethargic. I gave her some TLC with hand feeding her, giving water through a syringe, and keeping her on a heating pad on and off! She is slowly gaining weight. I don't take these guys very often just because i have more experience with syrians but she was so tiny and was going to be euthanized even though she was still trying to eat. She likes to crawl in my hand every now and then but is there anything i need to know with hand taming completely? And was wondering if you guys had any name suggestions? And anything else you would like to add go for it 😀! I admit I'm not very knowledgeable with this breed or even coloring but i had to give her a chance! The bedding changed because i was scared she had wet tail but we got through that scare!!

Re: New little rescue
Aww bless! She really does look tiny & totally adorable.
Well done for giving her a chance, it sounds as though she's responding well so far & as you've been having quite a bit of hand contact with her already I'm sure she'll continue to get tamer & grow in confidence.
Russian's don't get wet tail btw so that's one thing you don't need to worry about.
I would imagine any similar symptoms would be due to her adjusting to new foods & just eating again.
Be careful to avoid sweet foods, even natural sugars like fruit as Russian hybrids can be prone to diabetes.

Thank you for your help!! I didn't know they were prone to diabetes but i haven't given her any sweets since I've had her so that's a plus

Oh my gosh what a little trooper . She looks a bit sad somehow but obviously trusts you already. Bless you for giving her a chance.

Aww! She's ever so tiny and beautiful! Good on you for rescuing her, you've got a heart of gold.
What about Angel or Faith as a name.
Good to see you back Piebald.

She is gaining a bunch of weight and looking good so far (fingers crossed). The vet i work with was thinking about 5 weeks but we don't know exactly.
