Default Is it normal for WW male to be more sleepy this time of year?

This is my WW Benny - he's very sleepy at the moment though. Is this him being a big lazy WW for winter time, conserving energy? Is anyone else noticing this about their winter white hams? x

Firstly, you have a very cute winter white !

It is normal for them to be a bit lazier in the winter. Just make sure to keep him warm to stop him hibernating or from going into torpor.

Thanks he's also a very spoilt winter white!

Ah good to know. I haven't had one in a while and don't remember my other ones getting sleepier - but maybe they were.

For some reason he now thinks hiding his food stash under his food bowl is a clever manouvre. All it does is make him look like a ninja turtle hamster

I've had 4 Winter White's and I've found they are more sleepy this time of year, especially if its cage is a cold(ish) room
