Jasper, it's me, Sweep.
My pink human lady won't give me any cake!! How do I get some? I am feeling very sad about this!

Hi Sweep! Jasper here. Why don't you ask her for some cake instead of a walnut? Or a walnut cake? Why don't you ask for cake as a 2nd place show result present? Don't feel sad, think of your ham car and walnuts

Have you ever tried porridge? It is SOOOOOOOOOOOO nice but SOOOOOOOO sticky!! I had banana and walnut flavor the other night!! Nom nom nom! But, the banana did this weird thing ... It changed color!!!! Why did it do this? Is it because I didn't eat it all? Was it sad because I ate the walnut bits first?! I do not understand human food!

Yes I did try it! I got it all over my paws and it was VERY STICKY, so I had a nice roll around in my sand bath to clean myself, and licked it all of my paws. It was quite tasty

. My human gave me a bit more after and I ignored the WHOLE thing, so I haven't had any since

. Maybe? Human food is very weird. I prefer hamster food

I feel like I haven't updated Jasper's thread in a long time (because I haven't

) but Jasper is doing very well. I do want to try and do small updates everyday, but this one will be quite long.

Last month I (FINALLY

!) entered him into the main show at Peterborough. He placed in all his classes, with Second in Small Hamstery, Fourth in Pearl Winter White and Fifth in Junior. More details here as well as pictures of his certificates.

He will be 6 months old on Wednesday, which is a big milestone as he will officially be an adult ham (I think). At his last weigh, he was 56/57 grams (scale couldn't decide lol) so he is getting there, size wise. I've been feeding sunflower and pumpkin seeds every day (as treats) to help with his weight and sprinkled some flaxseed in his food a couple of times.

At the moment, he is staying at my mum's with me. I will post a photo later of his travel cage set up. It is a small cage, but it is for travel purposes and I do try to fit a lot of toys in and enrichment for him.

I have done a Halloween cage for him as well, but I don't have any photos of it. Today (since its half-term) I started some Halloween hamster DIYs for him as well. So far I have made a ghost hideaway and am in the process of making a Haunted House. I have plans for a few more projects, including some of Vanilla Ham Ham's DIYs (or just Vanilla on HC), especially the snake tube. Vanilla's snake tube tutorial. ErinsAnimals Halloween playlist. Larry-Jasper's taming is almost to the level I think is good. He has stopped nipping me completely! Jasper is very happy to be out the cage and have playtime and cuddles. The only thing I am perfecting is him letting me look at his belly for health checks. By that, I mean gently picking him up and turning him over, but holding him securely. To associate it with positive things, I feed him a seed every time he gets turned over, and as a result, is much calmer than when he was younger. Most hamsters never reach very far with this, but I still try with him.

Tonight I gave him a small piece of nectarine, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got to watch him sitting there eating it. We also had playtime earlier. He's getting much better at being handled by other people, but he is happiest with me. He will happily crawl all over me and my clothes lol

Oreo (my piggie) also had a larger chunk of nectarine, which I know he loves.

I think that's all for this update. At some point, I will mention what I got him from the US last week, but I don't have time right now.

Jasper sounds like a really lovely little guy & it's nice to hear how well taming & bonding have come on now.

I didn't get to see much of him today

as I have been out all day. He did get a quick handle earlier, when I accidentally woke him up by moving stuff in the kitchen

Yesterday we had wayyyyyy longer play time. One of my friends came over and we played with Jasper for ages. He had a nice, long run around. I also rearranged some of his toys to make his cage more interesting. He appreciates the new layout. One of the toys he really loves, is a loofah car from P@H, which Pinkneon sent me a few weeks ago. Larry-Jasper can be seen diving in and out of it constantly lol. I also got to watch him climb around his bars to get to his two mini shelves.

I think that's everything for today's update

Hello Larry-Jasper,

I sneaked a look at interwebz when Mumma Fluffs wasn't looking and thought I come find my friends. Is you all ready for Santa Paws yet? I wrote list again in case mine got lost in post. I not trust Mumma to put right stamp on it.
What is on your list Larry-Jasper? I ask for lots of seeds and housekeeping and boxes and I want another special bed that hangs from roof. Jamesy and Vicky got two so they not have to go without when Mean Mumma takes it out to wash it. Mumma not think I good at doing washing all by myself but Mumma is silly sometimes. Does your Mumma do strange stuffs like that too?
