Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Just an update, Chloe is holding a steady weight of 30 gm these last 2 months. I give her a variety of food choices but can't seem to get her weight up. She has mashed Kaytee lab blocks in her cage right now. Used microwave with some blocks then it makes a paste. Put in fridge & then ready to serve. Tonight is the first time trying this. She doesn't show much interest in baby food. Will see if this mashed lab blocks helps?
My robos weigh more than Chloe. But she was on the wheel running today. In 2 months she will be three years old. Really hope she makes it...

Poor little Chloe
Have you tried some Porridge with her? You could also give some other flavors of baby food a try to see if she just doesn't like that particular flavor. I always put my mixes into water for 5-7 minutes then offer it to my hams if they're having trouble eating. Hope she hangs on X

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
I've just been putting oats in her dish. Never tried straight porridge or different flavors. I think she had peas & chicken baby food the lab blocks from last night didn't work, she didn't eat any of it
Looking closer she did eat some, a corner of the dish has been eaten, do I need to change the wet food every night, well a paste now?

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
You could try a variety of safe baby foods to see if you can find something she likes, hybrids can be a bit funny about wet foods & not too fond of it but keep trying1 Porridge is always worth a try too.
I would remove any wet food after 24 hrs max & replace it with fresh.
I wouldn't microwave her food either, it shouldn't be necessary, just soak in warm water to soften it.

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Thanks Cypher, she does seem to be eating the mashed lab blocks at night. Her seed mix is untouched. I gave her a piece of cucumber last night & she could only manage a very small nibble even though she tried so hard to eat it.
Now when I hold her she's not strong enough to even open her mouth to bite. Yet she still ran on her flying saucer this morning. Will get baby food today, I'll put it next to her mashed lab block & make her a dinner plate : )

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Oh, Cinnamon Bear, I am so sorry that Chloe is having a difficult time eating much of the food you have prepared for her. It is truly heartbreaking, and I hope and pray that she will find a baby food that she loves soon. Fingers crossed and hugs to you both. Please stay strong and eat some delicious yummies for your loving mum, Chloe.

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Chloe's colouring is beautiful, the dark line down her back is so pretty.
She's got such a cheeky mischievous face on the flying saucer.
