Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
The last two pics were taken with my cell phone but you can still kind of see the area near her groin.
She's doing great, nothing abnormal
Still is concerning but it's been 2-3 months now since I've noticed it and she hasn't changed in any way except maybe get a little more active even?
She doesn't act old other than just normal aging, still very much acting like a happy hamster. But it is concerning and hopefully she won't take a sudden turn downhill. Hoping for the best of course!
It's been 2 months since I last posted similar pics of her leaning up against the glass now, it doesn't seem to be affecting her? Hope she will have a good summer with me at least. She'll be two this coming July/August

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Can't see anything clearly enough to have any ideas but she's looking good in that first shot, she is lovely
Something to just keep an eye on for any changes I guess.

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
She seems fine, the pics are a bit blurry from the cell. Thank you though. I'm hoping whatever it is isn't harmful to her? So far so good & it's been awhile now, so that's good news

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Concerned cause now it's been 3 weeks since I've cleaned her cage & it doesn't smell of urine at all. Next week is the 4th week when she's due for a cage cleaning but at this rate she won't need a cage clean?
I thought she was going in her sand bath cause I saw her do that once or at least tried but today I went to sift the sand and there were no pee clumps of sand. The sand doesn't smell of urine either?
I was told to watch out for signs of her not being able to pee as the tumor she has may block the urethra? She scratches alot at the glass which stresses me out, then other times, most of the time she acts like a happy hamster? I woke up early in the morning for some reason today & checked on her, she looks ok, still eating & drinking & taking treats. Just real strange cause normally her cage is completely ready for a cage clean as 4 week cage cleanings is pushing it as it is?

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
I'm working with a vet now regarding Chloe. Going to keep a closer eye on her to make sure she's eating & drinking. The vet said that once they can't pee they pass within 24-36 hours & get real sick. Thankfully she's not sick like that right now. Vet said she's getting urine out but I don't smell it?
Her highest weight this month was 36 gm & tonight she is at 32 gm but she is in her food bowl stashing & eating now, so I'm happy about that!
More good news! She just peed in her sand bowl. Looks like she's been peeing in the sand regularily & the sand isn't clumping up as it dries nor does it smell of urine either? I guess with the passing of another members hammie today got me real concerned.

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Got my fingers crossed for Chloe and that you're in contact with your vet.
Great news she's peeing in her sand bowl.

Re: Chloe Rose Petal - my WW hammie
Her pee shouldn't smell in the sand so that's normal.
They pee such a small amount it often gets dispersed in the sand too so I don't think you need worry about that.

Thanks! I wish she was still young! She hasn't been very active lately. She slowing way down.
