Mandarin + Pups

We purchesed a 'Mandarin' Winter White from a breeder at the London Championships and we paired her with a Sapphire as we couldn't trace a Pearl sadly. The results are (first litter she's had)

3 x Mandarin

3 x Sapphire

2 x Normal

The Mandarin is a simply stunning colour! I adore this animal!!

Unfortunately no photos of dad yet but he didnt want to be handled today.

Aren't they just the most gorgeous

Yes of the new "suspect" mutations I think Mandarin is the prettiest - I adore my Mandarin Pearls. You can clearly see the influence on the Normal pups.

do you ever come to hamster shows 'down south' such as Blenheim, London Championships (Reading), Thame or Cliveden???

If I do I generally don't have any hamsters with me - it is just too far and if I fly and can't bring them sadly. When I lived down that way I never missed a show - I do miss the fancy down there, feel quite isolated up here sometimes...

Shame... I can't find anyone locally with Pearl Winter Whites or any that are even willing to help trace some *sigh* but I want ones with good genetics and aren't going to be..well... random. Good markings and coat etc.

anyway... it will probably never happen...

I've always longed to get into showing but never knew where to start and don't have transport.

You'll get transport eventually and once you get to know other people may be able to car share etc. pj will be able to help you obtain a nice Pearl patterned Winter White when she gets back from her mothers I am sure. a major problem in your end of the country is the attitude towards these new mutations. Many will not be happy to have their lines crossed into a Mandarin for example.

I have a pair of pearls and a normal/pearl pairing that I hope will breed soon. If you are nearby then you are welcome to one when they arrive.

Lovely babies by the way. I have just had my first 'brown' baby which I am excited about.

I am based near Reading and my friend is in High Wycombe/Maidenhead area so i can get places from both.

I take my driving test on tuesday

Hopefully if i pass that means i have transport.... i will be going to every single show i can...

The thing is.. i'm planning ahead, you see.. i have all these ideas about colours *i* want to breed and i would also like to get into showing... BUT with everything at my friends house.. i cant.

So im hoping that if i pass my test then i can beg for permission to get a heated shed etc... have done all my research on cages/shed/light fixings etc so my parents cant deny i havent thought about it.

FINALLY got a decent quote of £322 for a 6x8ft shed including vat, delivery and installation. lowest quote before that was £460

But yeh... IF i get this shed.. i will be wanting to get a pearl...

I have a mandarin litter ready to go next weekend. there is also a mandarin pearl and a normal pearl. In my other lines I'm afriad I dont have any pearls going its not something I'm working on currently so they are just from my mandarin line atm if your interested send me a pm
