Default Winter White Russian Dwarf Pictures!!

So far Hamster Central has pictures for all the different hamster species except the Winter Whites, I could use a collection of up to 4 pictures that I will resize and post at the bottom of the Winter White page.

I’d like the images to be sharp and clear looking. And I'd like good portrait pictures of them. I'd also like at lest one image of a Winter White in it's Winter coat.

Any people that contributed images will be added to the “Acknowledgments” page HERE

Please send any images to admin@hamstercentral.com (also please put Winter Whites in the subject title).

Thank You

Default Normal, Sapphire and Pearl Winter White Russian Dwarves

Just a quick photo session - some didn't want to play as you can see!

These guys can also be seen in my Signature.

Thanks babyboos, some are fuzzy but that will probably be fixed since I'm going to shrink them down quite a bit!!

Hmm... Now I have seen good picture I think that their faces look different from the Campbell's Russian Dwarf, they are more rounded like the Roborovski Dwarf.

Yeah it is hard for the camera to get a focus when they are dashing across the duvet

I will get some more tonight - I have had the camera on charge just now in anticipation - one point though, the Pearl is not a colour of Winter White Russian Dwarf hamster it is a pattern, and affects both the Normal and the Sapphire colours slightly differently, by dillluting out a lot of the coat colour leaving only a few coloured hairs especially around the head and the dorsal stripe can sometimes be partially or fully obliterated, more so in Sapphire Pearls. There is also an Imperial (with a pure white belly) which is very rare, and two new colours just announced, with final names to be confirmed, but currently referred to as Mushroom and Brown, relating to the Sapphire dilute and undilute Normal versions respectively. For more information on these please visit Wendy Barry's Hedgehog Site

They look great reduced in size like that. I love these guys so much but have had to reduce my breeding efforts due to continued lack of popularity and have now only two breeding colonies where once I had seven groups and pairs. We really need the large chainstores like PetSmart in USA and Pets at Home in UK to distinguish between the two different Russian Dwarf species, it is shocking how many years they have got away with clumping them together.

Do you have your pictures on an internet site? If so reply to this message and type the URL of the picture surrounded by image tags [img] and [/img ] (remove the space at the end before the final "]" - this is just so it shows up in my post) and it will magically appear :P otherwise you can email it to Candace (admin@hamstercentral.com). Any problems don't hesitate to let us know.
