My Winter White hamster licking my hand??

My winter white hamster, Dotty licks my hand when ever I hold her although sometimes she doesn't lick. Has anyone came upon this issue? She is perfectly normal.

Aww that's cute! She's probably just tasting you. One of my girls licked me once! But I had just given her a grape so I think my fingers still smelt like the grape!

I had two male Syrians who would lick me almost every time I held them It is adorable! If I handle food or a female hamster beforehand, I am guaranteed a good licking!

Don't worry about it too much, but do watch for teeth. If she starts to nibble, discourage that part. Otherwise, enjoy that you have a hamster who licks!

A couple of times I've been holding a ham that started washing and ended up washing my thumb... imagine a cross looking Syrian then licking the air to get rid of my thumb taste!

I personally would feel used if a ham licked me after I held a female ham. I only want hammy licks that are sincere...that acknowledge me as a person.....

My Edgar licks me all the time! He'll even try to push my fingers apart to get between them so he can lick. He's very sweet about it, though, and is the one dwarf that has never bitten me before. I think that maybe he likes the salt from slight sweat on my hands, maybe yours does, too?
