Smile Hi, new to Hamsters and needing all the info I can get.

Hi, I have what I was told is a White Winter Russian that we just bought and named Pepe Le Pew. So far we have gotten him 2 cages, one with an exercise wheel, a holding area and also where his food and water are. He spends most of his time sleeping there. We made him long tunnels to run in that lead to the second cage that holds his litter box and dust bath. So far we've waited mainly for him to go to his holding area since we've been told he's cage aggressive (but now I don't know if he's trying to bite or just taste, I wash my hands and rub his wood shavings all over them to make me smell like him), or let him go into his toilet paper roll and pick him up that way. We also made a triple tube that has 1 entrance leading to 2 stoppers and I put cucumber pieces and apple pieces in there as snacks.

Any way to really train him to use the litter box and keep him for trying to taste me? I was told he's about 6 months old now.

Thanks in advance for any help here are some pictures of him!

When you are trying to tame hamsters, especially dwarfs, they will nip you!! If you put a treat in your hand, he should taste your hand first and then realize it's not nice and grab the treat!!!
Take the litter tray out for about a week, and you should be able to see his "pee corner." When you clean out the cage that week, take a bit of the soiled bedding and put it in the litter tray. Hopefully that should work!

You said his "Dust Bath" dust can be quite bas for hamsters when they inhale it and can lead to further problems. If I were you I would get some Chinchilla Sand as this is perfectly safe for hamsters
