Need help with identify my hamsters's species!
I just got two hamsters from Children Day's gift! Finally convinced my mom that I can have hamsters! They are so cute and so small! I am a beginner so I need help with identify the species of my two little hamsters. The yellowish is Bob, he is male hamster. The white and grayish is Lizzy, she is a female hamster.

The first one looks like a baby syrian, the third photo is a bit blurry but could be a Russian maybe a robo but more like a russian?

Bob looks to be a Long haired Syrian and Lizzy a hybrid Winter white type though the pics are unclear. If you have them together you need to separate them.
Very cute hammies

I agree that you should seperate if they're together. I also think that Bob looks like a young Syrian and Lizzy should be assumed a Hybrid as you don't know her lines.

Agreed. And yes, do separate them sooner rather than later, the peace that is reigning? (is it?..) is only the calm before the storm so to speak, and there will soon be trouble in paradise if you don't separate them

Re: Need help with identify my hamsters's species!
Thank you for all your replies! At first, they were fighting and I started to separated them at first. Slowly, I put them together because I am kind of out of hamster cages. Today when I went to observe them, they were sleeping together, one top of each other. When they woke up they were eating together and not fighting anymore! Is this normal?

Re: Need help with identify my hamsters's species!
If they are happily bundled up together seemingly peaceful, don't be fooled. One is a Syrian and the other is a Dwarf hammy. Syrian hamsters not only don't get along with other species, they don't get along with their own either, except when they look for a mate. I think the fact that they are very young is the only reason the Syrian hasn't killed the Dwarf hammy. They need to be separated pronto. They are both adorable and I think you are going to have a great time with your new pets. The two species are different in various ways and you will see that some people really root for one species over another, while others have multiple hammies of different types. Stay with HC and you'll get tons of great info to help you with these furry little ones.
