I know that sometimes hair can lose pigment if it is growing from scar tissue. Also, skin can change colour around scars, our old cat had a leg removed & the skin around it changed from white to black but it was all fine. I would be concerned about dead tissue around this area though given the injury so I would really recommend getting a vet to have a look at it asap.
