Default How old is your winter white?

Snickers has turned 2 years old this month and my vet says that is a good age for a winter white.

She looks ok, though has had a couple of benign skin tumours for a long while now... they look like tiny cauliflowers. Other than that, she's looking great... nice coat, good appetite, like to play and explore.

I'm wanting to get an idea about how old these lovely pets can live to, because I do love her and don't like the idea that she might not be around for much longer.

Age is always a hard thing because it depends on what illnesses they contract.

My pair who were brothers died within a month of each other, the one was quite ill and it was expected, the other one had problems but nothing too major and passed away in his sleep and I was none the wiser about it until I found him.

The first one died at 22 months old, the other at 23 months old.

I'm sorry you lost your two boys. It was lovely that they were able to live together. Snickers was adopted as a lone female.

Well, Snickers is in good shape, and the growths don't seem to be getting bigger, so my fingers are crossed I'll have her for a while longer.

I'd like her to be the longest recorded living winter white, but I think she'd have to get to about five years to win that.

Mine died at 2 and 2 and a half years.
However, I wouldn't go by how old they are, rather by how they look and act. Mine had both slowed down and started to really look old - so it was obvious that their time was coming to an end.
I'm sure that Snickers will live for a long while yet if she doesn't seem old or ill. It really is just the luck of the draw with hoe long they live.
