Roborovski Likes and Dislikes?

Hi Everybody. I will soon be the owner of some gorgeous Roborovski hamsters thanks to babyboos! Now I already know what these wee darlings require husbandry wise, but thought it would be nice to gleen information from those of you who already own these little hamsters.

What have you learned from being an owner or roborovskis? What toys do yours prefer and do they like to climb? I have the essentials like mini silent spinner wheels, hamster bath/loo, kabob with wood chews, ping-pong ball! and grassy nests.

Any information from others would be great because if I've missed anything out, I can buy more things in! Thanks!

Id say of all things my robo pichu /loves/ his wheel and loves to eat! Actually he seems to like allot to explore so he gets a couple toilet paper rolls to play in, a few little house hide away things.

He has a small sand bath, which he loves to role in. Ive giving him tubes to climb in and he seems to really like that. I added a space for him to sleep up top and sure enough, he liked it so much he moved his nest up there!

He loves budgie seed and millet. One of his other fav treats are small dog biscuits. He seems to like to tear up tissues to put up in his nest as well. Robos in my opinion are very curious and inquisitive by nature. If even I disturb the cage my Robo wakes up and comes to see what’s going on. They seem to have active minds so I think providing lots of interesting things to do help stimulate them well.

Im sure you will be a great owner, they are very easy hamsters to care for, and fun to watch!

Hi SnuggleHam and thanks for replying! I can`t wait to be a new Robo mum! I already have four lovely male gerbils and four male mice, all are rescues and I adore them. I will make sure they have plenty of stimulation and fun things to play in and on. I should be having four robos, but they are so tiny, we are making sure of the gender before they are rehomed here with me.
