Default A spider survived the robo tank!!!

I was giving the girl's tank a thorough clean out today (this only happens about once a month - they get a tidy up every few days, and a partial clean out once a week, but only about once a month does everything get emptied and scrubbed etc - they're just so tiny and produce so little mess it's only necessary this often!)

Anyway, I'd taken the girls out and put them in the travel carrier, taken out all the wheels tubes boxes etc, and removed the majority of litter & bedding by hand. I was just tipping up the tank into the bin bag to get out the last remaining bits........when a HUUUUGE spider ran out of the tank and under my bed!!!

It was MASSIVE!!! Well, ok maybe about an inch across. But I'm just so surprised that it had been in with the robos and not got eaten - they devour mealworms within seconds. Maybe this spider was just too big a prospect!

Yikes! I hate spiders when it's not on my terms. *shivers* Poor Robos, maybe it was to big for them. I would have assumed they would want to eat it as well. My gerbils use to go nuts if flies ever got in their cage, they would chase it around and jump in the air to get them! rodents sure love to eat bugs it seems. They would probably eat quite a few in the wild.

He must have been hiding from them, or else they were saving him for a snack later
