Robo Wheel Issue
Hi everyone! I've just upgraded my roborovski's wheel to a bigger size after deciding the one I had was too small. I know she can run in the new wheel as I've seen her do it but I've noticed that ever since I've upgraded it, she isn't running as much and is starting to bar climb (due to pent up energy I imagine). Should I just put the smaller wheel back in?

I upgraded to a 6.5in wheel which she can easily move but refuses to use. Last night I put her 5.5in wheel back in to see what would happen and she was straight on it and running for miles

Re: Robo Wheel Issue
Do you have the space to put both wheels in? Hamsters can be quite possesive about their belongings and she may have scented the old wheel making it her own.
She may reject the new one for now because it doesn't have her smell yet.
Are the wheels similar in design?

Ah I see. I'm getting her a larger cage in the next few days so I'll have the room to put both the wheels in and hopefully she'll bond with the big one!

Re: Robo Wheel Issue
Yes try that. That's how I transferred my hamster from one wheel to another although I don't think he would've cared as that's his personality. The bigger wheel will be a lot better for her but don't go any bigger than that. My robos got a 7" as I couldn't find a 6.5" besides the tacky ones that come with the wire cages and they rattle and it spook's niko.
