I had seen Hugo a few times looking for someone to adopt him, but wasn’t expecting to have room. With Murphy passing I popped in to see if he was still there. He was. He had been coming to the glass try to sniff me before and he did it again today, so he came home.

He seems quite bold/inquisitive so hopefully he will learn to trust me.

He is about 14 weeks old, so birthday is going to be 16th February. Just before my birthday.

He actually came out of the carrier whilst I was taking a picture and I had to pick him up breifly. .

Congratulations on Hugo, CMB. Always space in a loving heart for a little rescue! Lucky little Hugo. Look forward to news of him settling in and photos of course.

Hugo is slowly settling in. He likes his wheel and is getting better at using it. He is rather nervous and hides away a lot. I haven’t seen him apart from late at night. I am checking his water bottle a lot, as I haven’t seen or heard him using it (he has a water bowl to)

CMB, Hugo could not have gotten a better for ever home, congrats on him just gotta love a rescue, he looks lovely too..!

He's a cute little hamster!
I've had my hamster 2.5 months now and have seen him drink only twice. He loves fresh food so gets some daily and he pees so he must be either drinking when i'm asleep and/or getting most of his fluids from the veg/fruit. Like you, i put a bowl in as well as the bottle but he just climbs over it without getting his paws wet.

Thanks everyone. He may is living up to the typical robo shyness at the moment, so updates may be rare. He is waiting until darkness to come out. I hear him running, but he bolts to hide when I move close to his tank.

I unfortunately had bad news right after getting him (hours later), so may not be on here much. My dad has severe cancer and isn’t expected to have long before he passes.
