Default Should I be worried or not?

Hello, I'm new and my hamster is 1 and a half years old. She seems absolutely fine in herself but I am unsure of what this is and whether I should be worried?
Hopefully someone knows and can be helpful, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for your time.

What was it you were seeing? Do you mean the ruffled fur of the slightly dry looking patch on her back?

The slightly dry looking patch and what looks like flaky skin in her fur. Is there anything that could be causing this and anything I can do to make it better?

I can't see much sorry - but I'm no expert. To improve skin and fur condition, giving linseeds as a supplement works wonders. You can buy a big bag of brown linseeds in any health food shop (or possibly supermarket) - I just put a pinch out daily on a separate dish to the normal food. Both our hammies love them and our Syrian's coat is lovely at nearly 2 years old.

The main thing is, does she seem ok in herself? Can she get to and use her sand bath (our robo started looking a bit like this recently and I found he had a lump and had difficulty climbing his ramp to get to his sand bath so had stopped using it).

At 18 months she is getting old and they can get thinning fur etc - but just see if she seems ok in herself in case there's anything else going on.

It's okay, I was just a bit concerned and wanted another opinion. Thank you so much for the advice, she seems ok so far, still running on her wheel and cleaning her self well but has slowed down a bit I assume due to her age but ill be sure to keep a close I on her. I will definitely be getting some linseed.
Thank you very much for your time.

Yes just monitor her. It could just be age or it could be a sign her condition is not so good due to some unseen health issue. Things do start to slowly fail as they get older, as with humans. Either way she will enjoy the linseeds And it may help with coat condition. Does she have a sand bath?

I will watch to make sure nothing else shows up or gets worse. Yeah, she's always has a sand bath in her cage and has been cleaning herself regularly like she normally would. She did start to sleep in the sand for a little while and I wasn't sure if that was causing any skin problems, I'm just encouraging her in her hideout at the moment

What sand are you using? I think it was Racing Hamster on here who had a dwarf hammy who had skin issues from using sand. That is a possibility but seems unlikely if she's always had a sand bath - unless you've changed sand or the sand has changed. The Tiny Friends (formerly supreme) Chinchilla sand has changed recently - it seems darker and coarser. I've switched to the Rodipet one - some people use the sterilised children's play sand from Argos.

Sleeping in the sand shouldn't be a problem so I wouldn't worry about that.
She is getting older now although not really old yet but they can lose conditio with age, what mix do you feed her? The flax often helps a lot, a really tiny pinch of brewers yeast once or twice a week can help too also a drop of evening primrose oil a couple of times a week.
