Taming
So a few days ago I bought a robo hamster and Her names Waddles, I have never had a Roborovski and I'm scared because shes so small and I dont want to hurt her. Ive been slowly taming her, but today she randomly came up to my hand and bit my really hard, almost drawing blood. Can anyone give me tips for taming her? Shes done test nibbles and i left my hand there til she bit me really hard now i cant stop pulling my hand away when her face gets close.

Re: Taming
Hey I'm also new to robo taming, but this is what works for mine:
- first of you shouldn't tame her straight away, let Waddles to settle down for at least 4 days, better a week. Meanwhile you can spend time near her cage and talk to her so she get's used to your presence. If you tame her too soon she might nib you because she's stressed!
-I always give Poppy my right hand and I put treats on my right hand with my left hand - so my right and doesn't smell like food all over, because then she might nib;
- Do not move your hand until your robo looks very relaxed with the current taming stage, because you will scare her;
-Meanwhile you can crumble her bedding with your hands so she smells you in cage and gets familiar with it;
Lastly, be patient, robos are shy. I was taming Poppy for 2 weeks now (+1week to settle down), she still runs away from me often, but if you're patient she understands that your hand is not an enemy. Think about what they had to go through in petshops, being woken up all the time to show them to customers, they don't feel safe. Be a good friend.

Re: Taming
I have held a long piece of millet with one hand and had it over my other hand. Murphy (my robo) will eat while on my hand, but it has taken months. He can still be weary/jumpy and run away from my hand.
Robots are hard to hold as they generally move quickly. They are often a pet to watch rather than hold, but keep trying and you may be successful.
