Default Why Oh Why????

Well, the thing I didn't want to happen has had to happen. I have had to separate Cuddles and Muddles tonight. So now I have 4 Robos that live individually.

They were squeak fighting again and afterwards they were really not happy going near each other and would either circle the tank to avoid each other or chase each other away which would result in another fight. One of them was more scared than the other and the poor lamb was running for his life in the wheel and if the other came out of the house it was obvious he was on edge.

I didn't want to take any chances of possibly finding something very upsetting when I checked them tomorrow. I am hoping I have done the right thing???????

I'm really sad that I can't watch them interact anymore as it's really great watching Robos play together.

I did start thinking this morning that I suspected that they weren't getting along aswell anymore as they were together but under the house and one seemed a little uneasy at the attention from the other one.

Please can I have some advice, have I done the right thing or were they doing something that could be classed as finding the dominant hamster??? in which case, I should not have separated.

I am quite upset that this has had to happen but I was so scared of possible outcomes and have been worried since I had to separate the first of the 4 as he had been bullied. Then a week later number 2 had to be separated (now those two are Cherub and Star) now I can pick proper names for Cuddles and Muddles.

Have I been too panicky and separated when I shouldn't have done???

Oh Lisa I am so sorry - you did the right thing. What a shame as you say it is lovely to see them interact but better live alone than in constant fear of fighting.

I feel for you, my three are now each seperate too

it's a shame as I think a different combination may have worked for mine, but by the time they all had to be seperated the two originally split ones had been apart for over a month, and I felt it best just to let them be alone, they now get more time out being handled.

are you going to try any different pairings?

Hi Guys

Thanks for making me feel a bit better with knowing that I have done the right thing.

As Star hasn't been seperated for too long (only about 2 weeks) and he didn't mind being put with Cherub (it was Cherub that had the problem) I'm going to try to put the latest one I took out with Star and do the barrier thing again to see if they will be ok.

That will be the too smaller ones together so maybe that will work out (hope so)

I don't think I could put the remaining one in big tank with Cherub as she really won't tolerate I don't think. Cherub is really skittish now even with me and Chris. Have a lot of work to do with her I think. Back to square one with the taming

The 4th Robo is now in a HUGE 5 feet long aquarium tank on its own!!!!! I am going to put it in a smaller one I think as that is somewhat ridiculous plus takes up a lot of room. I now have 6 hammie homes. sheesh. obviously one each for my syrians and 4 for the robs (at the minute)

Wish me luck introducing star to the other little one.
