re: Meet Murphy
Yippee for the two of you! I am so happy to hear that Murphy took a pumpkin seed from you and also sat on your hand. What special moments! Keep up your bravery one paw at a time, Murphy!

re: Meet Murphy
He is willing to take food from me most of the time now, but getting him on my hand is still hit and miss.
Stroking is not liked much, so i’m Just taking my time with that.
Not sure if the weather is effecting him, as he stays in his nest more at the moment.
He has his Christmas hanging chew toys and tubes at the moment. He does seem to be enjoying them.

re: Meet Murphy
It sounds as though you're making steady progress with him, mine seem to be staying in bed longer than usual at the moment & I think it probably is the weather & time of year.

Steady progress is good, sounds like you are going at just the right pace for him. I'm sure he'll get more and more confident as time goes on

re: Meet Murphy
As Murphy is my first robo. I’m not sure about the best way get him used to being stroked.
I either wait until they are comfortable being held. Then as they go from hand to hand or sit still, give them a small stroke or even just touch their back.
I have used a toothbrush before to stroke hamsters before they were tame. This way if they turn to bite.they just bite the tooth brush. Once they are ok with the brush, then trying with my finger.

re: Meet Murphy
It definitely sounds like you are make some good progress with the taming. He is probably just staying in his bed longer due to the cold weather; I don't blame him. I'm glad that he is enjoying his new chew toys.

re: Meet Murphy
Despite more time snuggled in his bed. Murphy is quite eager to take food from me and will get onto my hand to take food from my hand. A small stroke is also ok. But he doesn’t stay still for long. But it’s so nice he can trust me enough to do these things.
